3100SN and 7800N - Guest access?

Post by PatrickCherry »

Hi - I have a 7800N with 2 3100SNs - one connected via ethernet and 1 connected wirelessly. The 3100SN connected via ethernet (to a port on the 7800N) has 2 SSIDs - the 1st our standard SSId used on the other 3100 and the 7800N, and the 2nd/new one used to provide guest access to the internet (for a rented room we have).
I have multiple SSID Isolation set ON and ticked both Client Isolation tick boxes.
How secure is this? From different posts and comments it seems that the Guest could access our home LAN - is this right? If so, what would be the best way to secure it? Do I need to swap to a 2073N which I see on a Billion press release has true Guest setup?? Thanks for help on this.

That's correct they will still be able to access your local LAN from the 3100SN, it is the same for the 2073N, it has 'Multiple SSID Isolation' which isolates each SSID from each other and 'Client Isolation' which isolates each client from each other, but as the main source is the 7800N, they will still be able to access devices connected to the 7800N's LAN port
