3G WAN Settings Auto vs Dongle settings

Post by ComplianceManagement »

Which of the 2 settings for dongle mode should I go with? Does automatic use the settings for APN in Billion, whereas Dongle will use whatever is set in dongle config?

You can use automatic, it all depends on how your dongle connects, eg Internal IP assigned to the router, use dongle settings, if you need to enter a fixed APN use automatic or PPP mode

It uses HiLink, if that makes a difference. Dongle gets a gateway IP of 192.168.8.1 (router sits on 192.168.0.1 usually), and 192.168.8.100 gets registered as the "WAN IP".

I've found automatic vs Use dongle settings doesn't have an impact, so I've left on Auto and mirrored the APN settings into both dongle and Billion config.

Thanks!

You should be fine, as it is following the dongles settings
