7800DXL LEDs for 2 LAN Ports permenantly on

Post by DaveF1 »

I've got a 7800DXL Modem router that I bought in October 2014. 2 of the LAN port LEDs stay on (green) even when there is nothing plugged into them. I've tried a reset but this still happens. Otherwise the Router has been very good and has improved my (rather long) line speed by about 25% and the WiFi has been pretty much faultless.

Just a guess, have you checked that Advanced setup->Management->Power Management->Ethernet Auto Power Down and Sleep is enabled ?.

Are the ports still functioning?? (the ports with the LED on)

Tried a reset (several)- now I can't connect to the router at all. Fortunately it's been replaced as I'm now on Fibre, but was hoping to use it as a wireless access point. No DHCP, so no IP address if I plug my laptop into it. Tried setting one manually (192.168.1.2) but then can't ping the router 192.168.1.254.
