Wrong line attenuation value

Post by CharlesII »

Hi,

this is my first post because I have just bought a second hand Billion 7800DXL and I’m having problem with it.
It is reading a wrong line attenuation value (77dB) which is quite the double of the typical one (41dB).
It is connected to a Siemens DSLAM using PPPoE, LLC, 8/35 and MTU 1492.
The ADSL statistics are (downstream, upstream):
Max data rate (Kbps): 5028 888
Data rate (Kbps): 4731 789
SNR (dB): 6.0 8.5
Attn(dB): 77.5 21.1
Pwr(dBm): 20.1 10.2

With a Zyxel P-660HW-T1 the ADSL statistics are:
Data rate (Kbps): 8646 679
SNR (dB): 6.0 7.0
Attn (dB): 40.5 19.9
Pwr (dBm): 102.4 10.6

and with a Digicom Combo C:
Data rate (Kbps): 8576 814
SNR (dB): 6.2 8.5
Attn (dB): 41 20
Pwr (dBm): 8.5 10.4

Do you know which might be the reason of the problem and if there is a solution to it?
Thank you in advance.
