BiPAC 8900AX2400 BT VDSL2 settings

Post by carrpet »

Hi There

My Billion has always historically delivered a download speed of about 70 MBPS and upload speed of 20. I am with BT and have VDSL2 I think.

As of right now my BiPAC 8900AX2400 is delivering a download speed of about 50 MBPS download speed versus my HomeHub 6 at 68 MBPS

Overnight there was a speed drop down to 2-3 MBPS. Rebooted - no change. Rebooted again, no change.

Called BT who requested I reconnect my HH6 which I did. Ran OOKLA and I am 65-68. All is good ?

Reconnected the Billion and reverted to under 10.

Reconnected the HH6 back to 68

Reconnected the Billion and improved but can't get more than 50 MBPS. Rebooted and still around 50. HH6 still delivering 68mbps.

What do you suggest I try next with the Billion. What other information would you like me to provide. ?? Should I look at my VDSL2 settings ? What should they be ?

Help very much appreciated.

Everything looks fine regarding the sync speeds, (76 down and 20 up)

You don't have any QOS rules setup do you??

If not, it might be worth a isolation test (turn off both wireless bands) leave only 1 PC connected via a wired connection (all other Ethernet connections disconnected) and perform another speed test.

Thanks for your help.

I wonder if the problem was at the exchange and the HH6 tuned in to the reset connection faster than the Billion ?
