Creating a Wifi Network with no Internet Access

Post by jinky32 »

Hi,

I would like to create a wireless virtual access point that has no access to the Internet. Essentially I have a number of my children's devices at home that I want to be able to connect to each other via wifi but I do not want them to be able to access the internet.

What is the best way to do this?

Thanks for any help.

Set each device to obtain a static IP via the router (Configuration >> LAN, Static IP Lease List in the middle of the page, enter the MAC address of each device then a IP address outside the DHCP range)

Then setup a firewall rule to include all IP addresses within a range eg 192.168.1.200 ~ 192.168.1..210 this rule will block the internet connection for these devices example attached
