USB dongles used for 802.11ac

Post by oldjack »

Quite possibly if you have a usb dongle ,such as 3010a , then after updating the driver Realtek 8812AU you may see a notification "Check switching USB mode for better performance" or something to that affect. It occurs when using the dongle in a USB 2 port and when the driver settings are for 802.11ac only. The solution is to go to the driver and configure ,in my case, Preferred Band 3. 5G first
USB S F Mode Enable
USB Switch Mode USB Mode 2
Wireless Mode IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac
I left all other settings alone.
