7402x 6.24c

Post by Shonky »

I requested 6.24c from billion UK today
due to it having a fix for UPNP for the PS3
Billion Australia have had it since June

Billion UK promptly requested it from Billion

I have mirrored it for anyone with a 7402x
http://www.mediafire.com/?dxd137zo7zsbxqw

Here are the release notes
http://www.mediafire.com/view/?x77e76p537rrvxn

Anyone with a 7402nx etc.. will need to put in a support request to billion UK

Just out of interest i decided to compare it to the Australia 6.24c

FOR_Billion UK 7402X 6.24c.afw is a tar archive so its quite easy to compare

there are 27 files inside that form various parts of the firmware
26 of the files have an identical crc32 in both the UK and the Australia firmware

the 27th file ParC3device.translations is different but is only a text string identifier

Australia
device.vendorurl=http://www.billion.com.au
UK
device.vendorurl=http://www.billion.com

So in summary the only difference between 6.24c for The UK and Australia
is they report different vendor url's

... and use different SNTP servers by default. Also new to f/w 6.24c:

- NAT-T actually works (for the very first time).
- Number of UDP connections can pass 2000, causing DNS lookup failures.
