Billion 770N settings for BT ADSL Broadband (not Infinity)

Post by BigJohnD »

After 20 years (since dial-up days) I been with the same ISP. BT have made me a silly offer which I've accepted, so I'm changing ISP in about 10 days.

I'm hoping to continue using the Billion 7700N router rather than the (locked down) supplied HH6 so as not to re-configure my home network.

I'm hoping that most of the new set up will auto-detected but just in case, can any one confirm the required settings?

I believe this should get me connected:

DSL settings:
Username: bthomehub@btbroadband.com
Password: <empty> or "bt"
Connection Type PPPOA
VPI/VCI 0/38
Encapsulation vcmux

Many thanks.

If you have issues with the credentials above try the following

Username - bthomehub@btinternet.com
Password - BT
Connection type - PPPoA
VPI = 0 VCI = 38
Encapsulation - VC-MUX

Many thanks.

Change over very straightforward.

Old ISP went off, entered settings for BT as above and carried on where we left off. Didn't even have to reboot the router.
