Port forward to port 80 and/or 443

Post by davotoula »

I have port forwarding working well for all ports except 80 and 443 which just refuses to port forward from outside (Internet).

I have confirmed that my internal device (NAS) is listening on 80 and 443.

I have also changed router management port to 8080 to prevent conflicts.

Is this an known issue? Any workarounds (cannot use another internal port unfortunately.

I am not aware of any issues with port forwarding on the 7800N, as you have changed the routers port to 8080, port 80 should then be forwarded to the device you have specified, port 443, is not used by the router, so I am not sure why you can not open this port.

(lots people here use port 80 with CCTV etc, so it shouldn't be issue, have you checked the gateway address on your NAS to make sure it points to the routers IP address)

Thank you for the quick reply.

You are correct, the Billion router is not at fault here.

I was able to forward 80/443 to another device on the network so it must be the NAS.

Haven't solved it fully yet but this was a great tip.
